Today was one of those days that I was sincerely grateful and happy, that I can see something I like and just say hey , I will try to make that....Now, some of my creations using this mentality are sitting in a thrift shop collecting dust somewhere, or in a landfill, hopefully breaking down.....LOL...But all in all, I enjoy experimenting just trying to make something similar to an item I admired in a pic in a magazine or on a blog or somewhere....
NOTE* I would never ever make an item and attempt to sell it or give myself credit in any way forthe design of an item.
Here are a few of my attempts today :I saw this in a pic of someone's prim house and really liked it!!
I made the labels for these jars in my Paint program on the computer...I had some difficulty getting the extra glue off around the edges and I need to spray sealer on then I think....* If anyone has any hints or tips I can use to do this in the future, please feel free to leave a comment:
AS A BONUS FOR MY BLOG PALS Here are the labels ...Right click and save to your computer, then you can resize them and print off to use them for your empty jars ....Have fun !
Robin,
ReplyDeleteWe are alike! The more I read about you, the more I see it. I, too, look at other things for inspiration for my own home. I thought every crafter could do that. I mean, I didn't realize people couldn't just look at something and come up with their own item similar to it. I'm not dependent on a pattern.
I like your bag. So cute! I see all the felt creations and I think I need to try those a bit. I made DD small felt ornaments for her tree but they were out of cheapy felt from Wal-Mart! Does that count?
I like your jars. Recently I made labels for my spice "jars". I used gift card tags and just applied Modge Podge to the back with a brush and stuck them on. The glue didn't come out around the labels. Maybe you're just using a bit too much?
Robin thanks for the labels.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetie!
Robin, cute stuff!! I love that little bag. When I did labels on my jars, I coated them with painter's wax. I think it's probably the same as the Johnson's paste wax. I stuck my labels on with an Elmer's gluestick. Three years later, they're still on and still in perfect shape:)
ReplyDeleteRobin or anybody: Don't click on that link from "Yolar." There are a bunch of people targeting blogs with computer viruses. Report that person if you can, Robin. Just don't click on any part of it!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Robin
ReplyDeleteI have made labels for my jars but not as fancy as yours! I also keep my corn starch and baking soda in mason jars with labels on them.
You are such a generous giver.
