I finally decided I'd best get my butt in gear and take part in Leslie's ( My Country Home) "Whatcha Working On Wednesday ", so here I am...
I made a yummy Casserole last night for dinner that I wanted to share..it was posted on Terri's ( Prim Creek) Blog , called "Cheddar Zucchini Bake " .. I didn't have Zucchini , but I had summer Squash, so I decided to make it with that ...here is a pic and let me say it was YUMMY !!!:
I have been enjoying my Summer, but I really am looking foreward to Fall...not only is it my favorite time of the year, for the weather and the beautiful leaves ...I love all Fall Decor...
I've been looking through my old Magazines to get in the mood and get inspiration for colors and such.... Here's what I do..I cut out pics that jump out at me and arrange them in my inspiration book, then I'll write about what I'd like to create next and the colors, fabrics , etc.... Well, I don't always follow through with all that, but I do look and get inspiration....lOL ...Here are a few examples:
Then...I made the body for a Posie Annie from my pattern way back when I first drew up the pattern and never did anything with her...I've wanted an Annie to sit on my Antique School Desk I got for my Birthday, so I decided to finish her up, but I'm going a little different and making the colors a little warmer and Fall-ish to go better in my Living Room... Here she is with her dress just laying on her...it needs grubbied and she needs pantaloons and such...
Finally... I have been working little by little on my Posie Stitchery, and... I made this little round doll head for Fall last year.... My oldest daughter was living with me, and she kept haassing me to make a doll with freckles like her... So...I put freckles on this gall and did up her face but never finished her...I wasn't happy with how she stained up and just tossed her aside...Her head has sat on my table and been moved here and there for a year... So, I finally decided to put hair on her and I'll be making a body and clothes for her too....It feels good to be doing up some unfinished projects..
That's it for now... Might think of something else I've been doing later...hmmmmm

Robin,
ReplyDeleteI really like the doll head. I think she's adorable but I know what you are saying. I have started projects that didn't go quite they way I wanted and so they were tossed aside until one day when I saw them in a new light and got to work :)
Your Annie is cute, too! She'll look great on your school desk.
The magazine pictures in the idea book is a good one. I used to jot everything down on paper and then put it in a folder. I have so many different sizes of paper in there! So, I just decided to buy a composition book and do my doodles and ideas in there. I should cut stuff out and glue in there, too. I often use magazines and catalogs for inspiration anyway and that way I don't have a million catalogs around taking up space!
Have a great day and thanks for joining in :)
I just got your comment.....I have been surprised with "Whatcha Working on Wednesday" When I started it, I didn't think it would really take off like it has! LOL I will blog hop somedays and find people that I never even heard of before participating in it! LOL It's fun seeing what others are working on...even if we haven't actually completed anything at that time and you can also get lots of helpful advice on which way to go next if you're lost!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Oh, and the casserole looks yummy, too! I forgot about it when I went to comment earlier. I would definitely eat something like that...my family is a little iffy..lol
I love it, how cute. Your projects are so cute, I can't wait to see what you do for fall or the holidays!

I think your doll head is cute. I never outgrew my freckles, still have 'em and I'm in my 40's. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a drawer with doll bodies, parts etc. I get discouraged when something doesn't go right and then stash them away.
I'll have to check back and see your new Annie at her school desk.
I have a notebook similar too yours! :O) Makes it so much easier then having a bunch of magazines! I want to redo mine, decorate the front a bit and organize my clippings into catagories. I still love your posies stitch-too cute!

Your use of an inspiration book is a great idea that I'm going to adopt. I also have a couple little cheapie photo albums that I covered with some fav. fabric and I keep photos of past project I have made. Also great to look through for inspiration or to see how my crafting has changed.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea book. Great way organizing them. I just rip the pages out and put them in a folder and then at times try to remember where I put it...lol
ReplyDeleteI also love all your creations! I can not wait to see them all completed.
I am going to have to learn how to do stitchery. When ever I see them completed by others they look so beautiful.
