Ok...I am officially going to make Thursday "Trash to Treasure Day " ...Anyone wanna play ??? You see, Thursday is trash day here at my house, so I thought it would be appropriate....If you want to play along, just Email me, and I'll add your Blog Link and Name to my Blog ... I buy a candle here and there and sometimes the jar is just too nice to throw out. I had a few of these jars from candles I got at WalMart. I loved the jars, but I didn't want anymore jars to add to my kitchen right now, sooooo... I needed a tall container for Q-tips in my bathroom, and thought this tall jar would be perfect, but I didn't want Black Lids ( which is what these were) so, I painted over the black with regular craft paint( Italian Sage color) and let it dry really well.Sanded down a bit, rubbed on some english walnut stain and then sprayed with a sealer. I wasn't happy with the shine, but I only had glossy sealer.
I'm including a few pics of my Bathroom, which isn't primitive, more cottage/vintage/shabby chic???
Robin,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE them! They are so perfect for your bathroom!!! Great job recycling!
We don't have awesome candles like that at our Wal-Mart :( But I buy a lot of those mason jar candles from Dollar General and re-use them for a lot of different things. The plain old lids work nicely for coasters around the house!
Thursday is garbage day here, too :)
love the bathroom!!!
ReplyDeleteyou and leslie give me sooo many ideas!!
hhmmm. what can i come up with for next week?? lol
Love the bathroom!! Looks like it is huge....I'm used to being able to pee and brush my teeth at the same time!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice job on the trash to treasure jars!! Ingenious!! I'll look around and see if I can come up with somethin' for next week!!

Your bathroom looks so prim! Love it! I need to decorate my bathrooms still. Yours is such an inspiration! Love the jars too! Any easy way of cleaning them out after the candle is done?
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I love them, too. Great job Robin. I'm going to have to be sure to watch your blog more, especially on Thursdays! Then I'm going to have to get crafty and ambitious enough to share pictures!

ReplyDeleteRobin your bath is gorgeous...I love the colors...the jars came out great! Blessings, Kim
ReplyDeleteSo, can I like "cheat" and use my Easter craft as the Trash to Treasure? Huh? Huh?
ReplyDeleteThe only other things I did this week were repainting the living room walls and cleaning my car and flower beds! LOL I guess those could be "trash to treasure" LOL
We sure do not have candles like that at our Wal-Mart. Love your space, will be visiting often. Thank you so much for sharing your prim patterns and awesome ideas.
