The "Process" of Holiday Decorating ....

Call me crazy ( many have ) but I have a ritual to my Holiday Decorating and it involves much more than taking the Christmas decorations out and hanging here and there....I take everything down from my walls, clean the everyday things, scrub the walls and then begin the process of finding the right place for the Christmas items and begin arranging....Now, back in the day when I didn't have much .... when my kids were small, it wasn't like this ... But with the whole introduction to the primitive world a few years ago, and making alot of my own items to add to my collection, there is more and more to deal with, and it keeps growing with each swap and trips to Country Primitive Stores....LOL....So, here is the beginning process of my decorating yesterday...I was Blessed to have my daughter to help me arrange furniture , assist with the vacuuming and just be an overall great big help !!!

  1. Robin, I know exactly what you're talking about! Only I do my cleaning thing right at fall, then I re-wax my floors so the Christmas tree can shine the floor all up, which makes no sense, because the tree is such a mess. Oh well. Then comes spring, and it has to be done again.
I'm inspired by your decorating plan. This year, I let my kids get everything out and I figured I'd go back and fix it like I like, but I've been kinda "down" and haven't done it yet. I think we probably relate. Karen from P&R group

  2. Robin, I am so envious that you are able to do this. I just sort of slap stuff together - sometimes it turns out great, other times, (Like this year), it looks just okay. I simply have not taken the time to do it right!
Big hugs to you, dear one.
